Retention and dismantling are conflicting: if the retention is good, it is generally difficult to dismantle; if it is good, it is difficult to have good retention. So when choosing a battery holder you can test it and choose one according to your needs.
②Durability of the battery holder
Everything needs to have good durability, not to mention the fact that some batteries need to be removed frequently, which requires the battery holder to have good durability. This problem is further exacerbated if the battery holder uses very high clamps due to the increased wear and tear caused by the battery insertion and removal process. All battery holders should have polarity protection so that there will be no contact when the batteries are inserted incorrectly.
③ Conductivity and corrosion resistance
Exposure to excessive heat and humidity, corrosive chemicals, or airborne contaminants can often present problems associated with corrosion build-up, which can negatively affect electrical performance. To minimise these effects, choose a battery holder manufactured from corrosion resistant materials.
④High temperature resistant battery holder bases
There are several different types of plastic material for the base. The temperature of the battery holder can be very high instantly during the welding process and the plastic parts used must be able to resist high temperatures.
White plastic base is generally LCP material, flame retardant, high temperature resistance of 260 degrees
Black plastic base is generally PBT material, not flame retardant, high temperature resistance of 180 degrees
Brown plastic bases are generally made of PPA, which is not flame retardant and is resistant to 260°C.
The degree of high temperature resistance is generally determined by the structure of the battery holder and the use of the situation, such as some SMD type, the metal sheet needs to be welded on, it is necessary to resist high temperature, otherwise in the welding time, the base to fuse. Another appliance in use, some are to be fixed in the appliance, need to be welded on top, also need to be high temperature resistance. ⑤ Conductivity of the metal connection piece on the battery holder
There are metal connectors on the battery holder, which are mainly used to connect the positive and negative poles of the battery, made of steel and copper, each with their own characteristics. Gold plating: good surface contact, better conductivity (into high)
Tin plating: easy to tin, easy to solder (cost effective)
Nickel plating: resistant to oxidation, but poor tin effect, not easy to solder
