How to Transport Dry Batteries? And Precautions for Shipping Dry Batteries?

transport dry batteries

We often see some news about battery explosions, which sound terrible, such as spontaneous combustion of electric cars, spontaneous combustion of mobile phones, grounding of aircraft due to battery fires, and so on. But these are lithium batteries, which are different from the disposable dry batteries we talk about today.

Dry batteries generally refer to disposable alkaline batteries and carbon zinc batteries, mainly including LR03/AAA, LR6/AA, LR14/C, LR20/D, 6LR61/9V, R03/AAA, R6P/AA,R14/C, R20/D, 6F22, and AG3/LR41, AG8/LR55, AG10/LR54, AG12/LR43, AG13/LR44 button cells.

Firstly the dry batteries and their packaging must be protected at all times from direct sun and any sources of moisture, such as rain or wet flooring. Generally, the temperature of the compartment for transporting dry batteries should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius, and must not get in the rain.

Shock and vibration shall be avoided by ensuring that boxes are placed and stacked gently, and properly secured from movement during transport. To lessen the exposure of the batteries to heat, metal containers should be ventilated and kept away from heat sources such as ship’s engines or direct sunlight.
